TRAI Targets Spam Calls: TSPs Must Take Action
In a recent conference, TRAI highlighted the issue of spam calls overwhelming networks through PRI, SIP, and other telecom resources. To address this, TRAI has issued strict directives demanding immediate action from Telecom Service Providers (TSPs).
Here Are The Key Directives TSPs Should Adhere To:
Starting from 1st Sep 2024, no URL or APK links are allowed in messages unless whitelisted.
Promotional and marketing calls are prohibited unless made through the authorized 140 series and migrated to an online DLT platform by 30th September.
Unauthorized promotional calls will lead to blacklisting and cybercrime reporting.
Calls should only be made with valid opt-in proof that is less than 6 months old.
Calling DND-registered numbers without authorization is strictly prohibited.
Pre-recorded voice messages are strictly prohibited.
Non-compliance with these directives will result in serious consequences for your business.
